Film Analysis Series - May: NEW TRENDS IN CONTEMPORARY CINEMA DOCUMENTARY NARRATIVE WORKSHOP


The Wednesday, May 4 at 21pm . begins in the House of World Cultures Film Analysis cycle called New Trends of Contemporary Cinema . This series explores the new aesthetic and narratives that are being tested in contemporary cinema. Focused primarily on the American field in recent years, this cycle consists of films that are notable for their unconventional way counting their stories. A postmodern collage of fragments, memories, dreams parodies and narrative material to make these films assembled seeking to provoke new experiences in moviegoers.



The first film to be screened is The Orchid Thief, directed by Spike Jonze . The film whose main character is Charlie Kaufman, a screenwriter from Los Angeles, going through a career crisis and staff, quite the opposite of his twin brother Donald. Charlie writes as he lives: with great difficulty and full of insecurities, while living as Donald writes with procrastination. For its part, Susan writes about life, but is unable to live. This film from the director of "Being John Malkovich? offers a hilarious approach to the tribulations of the creative process.



The screening will take place on Wednesday May 4 at 21 pm at the Auditorium of the Casa de las Culturas, Marcelo T. Alvear and Mitre. The entrance is free and open .
